Stay in my belly…

Friday, September 30th, 2005

That’s right, I said stay in my belly. And no, this is not reverse psychology. Tomorrow is Maynard Fest. It’s a craft fair, sidewalk sale, music venue and all around good time. I have a booth, and I would really like to be there to sell my stuff, and I don’t want to leave in the middle to rush off to the hospital, especially since there are fireworks at 8PM.  I don’t mind rushing off to the hospital after the fireworks. Maybe they’ll scare her out.

Besides, there’s only a 5% chance she’ll be born on her due date.

They scheduled me for an ultra sound and non-stress test at the hospital for Monday morning. I have to go to the hospital for a non-stress test every 3 to 4 days until she’s born to make sure she’s still healthy and growing.

It may be non-stress for her, but for me going to the hospital every 3 days is pretty stressful.

False Alarm

So I thought I was going into labor last night. Every 8 minutes, something weird was happening in my belly. I don’t know if it was contractions, or maybe just gas, but it was pretty exciting. It’s really hard to figure out what’s going on inside.

Maybe the baby was just excited that I was Evil_muppetswatching the muppets. By the way, how scary is this picture?

So after two episodes of the muppets, I was too tired to stay awake and time "contractions". I went to bed, thinking maybe I would wake up in the middle of the night, ready to go to the hospital, but no such luck.

Does anybody else have the problem of staying awake during the muppets. I love them, but they always make me really tired. Especially the Dark Crystal. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the whole thing, becuase I always fall asleep.

So, no baby yet. My new guess is October 10th. I figure it’s realistic.

Get out of my belly!!!!

Baby_monkey Here she is! My little baby monkey! Just kidding. She’s still in my belly, safe and sound, all warm and cozy, swinging around in the womb with my intestines, like a monkey swings on vines in the jungle.

I went to the Dr. today. All is well, and pretty much the same as last week. The baby is a little lower, which means she’s a little closer.

Everyone has lost the bet on when she’ll be born. She’ll definitely be a fall baby now, and looks like she’ll be a Libra. As long as she’s out by Halloween. :)

rockem sockem

Robots The baby is playing rockem sockem robots with my intestines. All that spicy food didn’t get her out, but it sure made her angry. We tried all the inducing techniques we could find, and she’s still in there, but that’s ok. Now she’s developing her brain, so the longer she stays in, the smarter she’ll be.   :)

no baby yet…just heartburn

Banner_gerd There’s a rumbly in my tumbly. I read that spicy food can induce labor, so for supper we had chilli and chips and really spicy salsa. I had heartburn before dinner, but now…..

bring on the tums.

Come on out little baby.

Copy_of_babys_face_copy_1  Some of you were saying you couldn’t make out the baby’s face, so I thought this might help.

Went to the Dr. today. I’m 70% effaced and 2cm dialated. (that’s good) So I’m on my way to good progress.

I’m having lots of little contractions, so hopefully she’ll come out soon.

This weekend there is a full moon, the barometer is dropping, and it’s 20 weeks after the first good kick. The superstitions are lining up. I think she’s staying in so that she can be a Libra instead of a Virgo. As long as she doesn’t decide to wait until Scorpio.

Beware the giant belly…

Thursday, September 8th, 2005

Img_2211 This is my giant belly. I kept coming across belly casting web pages, and I decided I had to try it. It took three tries, because I started to faint the first two times, ( something about standing for 45 minutes, in 90 degree weather, covered in plaster doesn’t make you feel too great) but I think it came out pretty cool. We hung it up behind the bedroom door, so we don’t have to look at it all the time. That way it’s not too creepy. If you don’t believe me that this is the latest fad, just Google "belly casting".

Big news today, I went to the Dr. and I have permission to have the baby anytime starting tomorrow, where I will officially be at full term. According to the ultrasound results, (which I finally got two weeks later) she weighed exactly 5 pounds. The doctor thinks she was probably a little bit bigger. Babies are supposed to gain about 1/2 a pound a week, so she should weigh 6 pounds right now, and the Dr. thinks she’ll weight 7 1/2 if I have her on my due date. So I’m afraid there won’t be any world records set, at least not for this pregnancy. They didn’t change my due date. Hooray! But boy I hope I have her soon. I would like to see my toes again someday.

she looks like her daddy…naked and wet

Babys_face This is our baby’s face. You have to til your head to the right to see her. She has Marc’s powerful frown, and I fear she has the massive Cryan forehead, so she might need a hairstyle with bangs. Hopefully she’ll have hair. Babies with hair are much cuter than those ugly bald babies. This is what she looked like on the 25th, but the ultrasound machine was not printing so we don’t know how big she is. They will tell me next Thursday. I have a hunch she’s gonna weight at least 9 pounds. If I hit 24 I can break the world record. :)
